Picking my own nits, someone's orgasm is their action and they are
"responsible" for their own actions.  I am responsible for my own
actions, and choosing to do everything I can to assist my partner's
obtaining pleasure--or failing to do so--is my responsibility, and an
extremely good measure of my level of commitment to them.
