If this is the case, you are obviously dating the wrong women.
I can agree in principle, there are people (men *>AND<* women) who seem
to need some sort of mental or other abuse before they're attracted to 
other people...I try and stay away from folk like that.

Admittedly, looking for, and _finding_, someone who wants to get into a 
"real" relationship/interaction/<whatever> that is 'balanced', sharing, et al,
is not a small endeavor...but what are you going to do, give up?  Keep you 
shoulders down, your head up and keep pluggin'.
