When I visited Amsterdam two years ago, there were plenty of drugs for
sale on the street.  I thus find your contention that legalization has
been tried there a little hard to believe.  Perhaps you were talking
about free stuff for addicts?  It's been a smash hit in the UK: as I
understand it, there were thought (about 4 years ago) to be about 1000
addicts in all of England.
