Are there arguments supporting atheism which do not apply with equal
force against mono/poly/pan theism? If there are I would like to
learn of them. A strong form of atheism is exhibited in the work of
J. Lacan. His approach does apply across the board to any theism. I
happen not to be convinced by these arguments but I have not seen anything
more compelling. I bring this up because atheism and various forms of
theism (including thoroughgoing pantheism i.e. anima) seem to me to
be opposed in every sense except in a shared experience of persecution.
