In fact, the only conclusive evidence on the affects of sugar to the human body, is that it aids (causes?) tooth decay. Just for a side note, I believe that sugar has 16 calories to the teaspoon. With that in mind, it might be worth those extra calories to avoid some of the artifical sweetners, that seem to be a little more questionable.
