The problem lies in bringing up GNU Emacs on Sun 3's. People get temacs to run, and get a dump of xemacs, which is absolutely worthless, (won't run, can't be debugged, etc.) When this happened to me, I solved it by using the right include file in my makefile, it must be m-sun3.h (not m-sun.h). Turns out the only difference between m-sun3.h and m.sun2.h (yes, both of these exist) is in the way undump is compiled; the header of the core image is different for Sun 3's. Hope this helps.
