The backbone sites have decided to up the renaming schedule.  Hopefully
everything will be renamed by the middle of December.  Because of this, the
old net groups associated with the new misc top level group names
will be aliased to their new names on 10/24/86.

On 10/24/86, I will alias the old newsgroup mod.legal 
to the new newsgroup misc.legal.  This means that after 
10/24/86, articles posted to mod.legal will automatically 
be posted to misc.legal.  Please don't rely on this aliasing for 
posting articles.  Please post to the new group(s) only and
direct any followups to the news groups as well.

A couple of weeks after that, mod.legal will be removed.

After the aliasing occurs, articles arriving at tektronix 
(the machine) for the old group mod.legal will be aliased 
to the new group misc.legal as well.  There should be no 
new news arriving in, or being posted to mod.legal after
10/24/86.
