Message-ID: <8610131057.AA23538@devvax.tn.cornell.edu> Date: Mon, 13-Oct-86 06:57:34 EDT Article-I.D.: devvax.8610131057.AA23538 Posted: Mon Oct 13 06:57:34 1986 Date-Received: Mon, 13-Oct-86 19:12:28 EDT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 11 Approved: tcp-ip@sri-nic.arpa Has anyone programmed up a communications analyzer (protocol analyzer, "datascope") to understand IP and overlying protocols? I hope so, but doubt it, so my next question: could people recommend programmable communications analyzers? We have ended up running IP over asynch, synchronous DDCMP and HDLC lines, at speeds from 9.6Kbps to T1. At times a scope which understood IP/TCP/UDP would be tremendously helpful. Please reply directly (not everyone will be interested). I'll summarize for those who would like it. Thanks ... Scott
