This is true, however once the bolt is fitted it is OK to remove the bolt (provided it is a bolt action rifle) to clean the rifle (only proper way) or for security purposes as often as you wish. The fitting is of the boltface to the barrel to obtain proper headspace (important for safety and accuracy)
