I am currently studying an MSc course on A.I. and my thesis is expected to be on connectionist models as a mechanism for learning in expert systems. To get some idea of life in the U.S., I hope to visit California in January 1987 for 2-3 weeks. I would like the oppurtunity to meet someone who is already working in this type of research in the U.S. and can point me in the right direction. If possible, a visit to the company or university where the person is working would be a good idea. I am not an American citizen and I have not visited America before. I am most interested in work in California but other areas would also be considered and I am willing to change my plans to visit another area instead if this is best. I would be pleased if the person can provide temporary lodgings (1 week) - or point me towards a low priced hotel or hostel locally. Please reply by email to the above address, leaving postal address and telephone number. I will then give more information on my background. Catriona Kennedy (Miss)
