I don't know if this makes any sense, but we have an 11/750 with 7 meg, and it is just too slow for certain image processing tasks... is there any way to create a "ramdisk" with memory under VMS? and does anybody have any ideas about how this might effect performance? We wouldn't use it very often, but when we did, we would want optimal performance for that user... (by the way, we are using the gipsy image processing software if anybody out there has ever heard of it..) Thanks, (the rationale for a ramdisk, rather than a program doing everything in memory is because gipsy is a series of programs that you "apply" to an image file... which means multiple sequential file accesses... => faster with a ramdisk (?))
