The "No X" error means that XOpenDisplay failed inside the gnuemacs X driver, which either means that your machine was not xhosted or that the DISPLAY variable was wrong, although it sounds like the latter was not the case. If you are still having this problem, could you please mail me the exit status of the editor? The exit status encodes the failure mode, and it would be useful in helping me track the problem down. -- Robert^Z
