Our applications include digitizing of simple photographs, text (to be eventually converted to ascii), schematics and possibly real landscapes. I am as yet undecided on color/b&w or levels of gray needed. The price range should be < $15K. I am not looking for a professional system. The device will probably be attached to a Sun3/*, so a serial or scsi interface is a necessity. If you have had any experience with, or know of any companies (and phone numbers :-)) that sell this sort of equipment, RSVP. Thanks. --ed ucbvax!edjames
