You give them documents and money, and they return you a tape with bits representing the document. OR A high resolution scanner. It must be able to read in text with some degree of accuracy. It would be nice if it works in tandem with a Sun workstation (work = v. to function as is without need of writing device drivers). As a cue to the kind of quality needed: I have done some scanning with Thunderscan for the Macintosh and ported the results to the Sun. The scanning density of 144 DPI was *barely* adequete, and the time for a full scan 2 hours (1 hour scan, 1 hour to transfer data to the Sun at 9600 baud) is unacceptable. All pointers accepted.
