In fact, two versions are available. There is the RSX KERMIT which runs much like the RT KERMIT or UNIX KERMIT, and there is a special verison of KERMIT available for the PRO350. The original RSX KERMIT was written for an RSTS system but I believe it has since been adapted to run on both the RT and RSX systems. This version of the KERMIT works on most PDP systems with the exception that it requires multiterminal support in RT11. A severe restriction for the RSX version, however, is that depending on the speed of your processor, it may only work up to 1200 baud.(?) The PRO KERMIT, on the other hand, is completely manual driven, much like most of the PRO software. I have used both versions of the KERMIT, and I believe the PRO KERMIT is much more superior. Anyway, the source code and the HEX files for KERMIT can be obtained from the Columbia University at moderate cost. Or, if any one you know has a distribution copy you can simply ask him for it. The MRL computer room here at UIUC has a copy of the distribution file. I hope this will answer your question. .. C. Chen
