I read some of the chapters while the book was being written, and it is very enlightening. It made understanding these chips easy. There is lots of sample code, which should provide a good leg up on programming the '816. David had access to many if not all of the pre-production revs of the '816, and he now works at Apple, and has hacked Apple IIs since they first came out. He is also a very good writer, and helped write the outline for my book on Macintosh programming. I can confidently say it would have a weaker book without his help. I haven't seen ANY 65816 books in the stores on the east coast yet, but there are ads for it in many computer magazines. Rats! I can't find my APDA catalog, but it would be a good bet that you would find it in there, too. -Zigurd
