I suspect that the 6300 creates the illusion of 640x400 resolution by doubling the raster lines from the CGA 640x200 mode. Since the monitor (I assume you have an AT&T monitor) obviously is able to display this resolution, I suspect that a hardware mod is required to get the 16 color palette and higher *true* resolution of an EGA. If this is the case, then a software driver will not do the trick. Anybody out there know for sure?.......
