Why do UUDECODE etc on VAX and not on CPM system. For my system, we have a VAX 780 from which I download the files to an XT compatable using UNIFORM on the compatable to write on the disk in a format that I can read on my computer at home. The process of uudecoding etc happens to be a couple of hundred times faster on the VAX than my PC!!! So doing it here saves me a lot of time, not to mention all the extra ware and tare on my disk drive at home. It works for me!!!! Brian.
