It wouldn't.  I use John Brunner's uw program with GNU all the time.  I have
installed in GNU the mouse functions posted a while back by Chris Kent
/ Elgin Lee, and it works great!  I find myself using the keyboard for most
things, but for cut & paste, the mouse interface can't be beat.
