I read in MacUser (you know, the magazine known for it's technical excellence and sleuthful reporting, cough cough) that Motorola is rumored to be working on the MC68040 a 64/128 bit microprocessor running at atleast 100 Mhz, in a way a la the 68000's 16/32 architecture.
