The company in question is Warehouse Data Products. I ordered a Microsoft C compiler and a generic serial port in late August. The compiler arrived in reasonable time given that Microsoft may not have shipped them promptly. Two months later, I've yet to recieve the serial port. Several phone calls have elicited various responses including the latest which was that it would be sent out today. I'll believe it when I see it. They appear to me to have a very poorly organized bookkeeping system and/or inventory control. They also have a nasty habit of telling you they'll call you back tomorrow and not doing so. If you are thinking of ordering from them, my experience may provide some food for thought. I don't know whether all their customers get treated this way but they will get no more of my business. On a related issue. My C compiler came with no users guide and two library manuals. As instructed by MS, I returned the extra library manual but no sign of the users manual as yet (around two weeks or so). Is this normal turn-around for MS on a problem of this sort. The compiler isn't much use as it is.
