I just received mail from puff!plocher (John Plocher) about it.
The only thing that needs to be done is insert the lines

(*$P500 *)
(*$G500 *)

at the start of your Turbo program and Turbo Pascal will
allocate 500 byte put and get buffers and use the DOS device
drivers.  I just tried it, and it works fine.  There is nothing
special about 500; the size can be anything you want.

To everyone else:  DON'T bother sending me any more hints.
Being able to use the standard Pascal I/O is MUCH preferable
than having to write my own procedures with intr( $21, ).
