I seldom get my hands on a CGA (my system has an EGA), but I tried
something on one recently that puzzled me.  In text mode I filled
page 1 with text while page 0 was displayed, intending to change
pages and avoid snow.  However, I get snow on page 0 as page 1 is
written.  Is this inevitable?   (I know about using the vertical
retrace period but was trying to avoid this.)
