Message-ID: <291@ndmce.uucp> Date: Fri, 17-Oct-86 16:57:40 EDT Article-I.D.: ndmce.291 Posted: Fri Oct 17 16:57:40 1986 Date-Received: Sun, 19-Oct-86 01:43:24 EDT Sender: news@ndmce.uucp Organization: Convergent Technologies, San Jose, CA Lines: 15 Keywords: replacing machine name In defs.h in the 2.10 release of news, I uncommented the following definition: ... /* #define HIDDENNET "frooz" /* if you have a local network and want */ /* The mail address to look like it came */ /* from one machine */ ... As I understood it, this would only tamper with the mail address and nothing else. But this change actually makes inews (and rnews) think that the machine on which this "alias" is done is the machine frooz. Consequently, it screws up the news forwarding/receiving set -up. Is this a genuine bug or is it something that I have done wrong?
