For who are (or will be) in the New York metropolitan area, there's an
open house at the Metro-North Commuter Railroad's Harmon Shops on
Saturday, November 15, from 11 AM to 3 PM.  (Metro-North operates the
ex-New York Central and ex-New Haven commuter service north from Grand
Central.)

The flyer for this open house advertises: "Tour Metro-North's major
railroad repair facility.  See the latest equipment!  Ride the new
Shoreliner!  Bring your camera!  Free parking!"

The shops are at the Croton-Harmon (or something like that, I forget
the exact name) station.  By auto, find the town of Croton-on-Hudson,
look for Croton Point Avenue, and head west over the tracks.
