Here is the recipe. Double Stout 3 gallons of water 2/12 oz. of Bullion hops Boil for 20 minutes add 10 lb s. dark malt extract Boil for 20 minutes add 1 lb. black patent malt 2 lbs crystal malt 1/2 lb. flaked barley 1/4 lb. roasted barley 1/2 licorice stick 1 tsp. ascorbic acid 1/2 tsp. citric acid 1 tsp. Irish moss Boil for 5 minutes remove from heat and add 1 1/2 oz. Golding hops steep for 5 minutes cool and add 2 tsp. yeast nutrient 3 pks. ale yeast My initial specific gravity was 1.086 My final specific gravity was 1.020 = alcohol ~ 8% Fermentation time 11 days. (a slow batch) Yield 2 cases + 1 bottle Anyone out there have any good dark beer recipes they would be willing to share?? Peter "the mad brewer" Lester
