I've had a number of dysplastic moles removed by dermatologists in the
past year.  After the doctors excise the mole, they ship it off to
California for a pathological test.  Most of the moles are benign, but a
few have been reported as being slightly dysplastic.*

 Dysplastic moles show unusual cellular activity, and statistically are
 more likely to develop into melanoma (one form of skin cancer).

I have a pamphlet published by the National Cancer Information Center
(or something like that) that shows pictures of what to watch for, and
provides a little information about treatment for dysplastic moles and
melanoma.  The pamplet is woefully inadequate, however, when it comes
down to giving details about melanoma and success/failure of various
treatments.

Does anyone know of a good source of information about moles/melanoma?
Is anyone else undergoing similar procedures?  If so, please post
information.
