Smith) Organization: Columbia University CS Department Lines: 18 Keywords: Checkpoint/Restart In the August 1984 issue of IEEE Computer, a product called the Synapse N+1 is discussed in the article "Fault-Tolerant Systems in Commercial Applications". In particular, there is mention of a scheme used to decide where to insert checkpoints in higher-level language code. I called the number in the article, and it was not valid. I dialed the operator, and there is no listing for Synapse in Milpitas, CA. Netters, here are my questions: 1.)Is this company in business?
