The cheapest that I know about is the Sun 3/52M @ $13,900. The 3/52 is a 68020, 4Mb memory, mono graphics display, 60Mb tape, and 71Mb scsi disk. The Sun literature never states that a 3/52 can be a server, but I don't see why it couldn't. I am trying to configure a lab size (3-5 PC AT machines) net that has NFS functionality. Performance is not the issue, and I don't really need the nice graphics display on the 3/50. What I do need is BSD style TCP/IP functionality plus NFS functionality. For a five AT system, this would work out to $3k/machine for the server and $1k/machine for the Sun PC-NFS hardware, software package. How can I do this for less? Kaare Christian cmcl2!rna!kc
