My anecdotal evidence also indicates that noise level goes up in bad weather, leading me to suspect it is in part due to connections. I find it often helps to hang up and dial again. Also, don't get call waiting for a modem line unless you can cancel it with *70 or 1170. It's the kiss of death for a session. Ken
