I need a better emacs to run on a berkley 2.9 pdp-11. I am currently running jove, but am far from happy. Why might you ask am I using a pdp-11, ie don't they use them as door stops or something? The department that runs the machine doesn't charge much for its use. I use gnu emacs on a VAX 8600 but with its large executable I feel it will bring a small machine to its knees. Does anyone know if micro-emacs runs on a berkley 2.9 unix machine? If so, how do you unarc the source? I can't seem to find an arc.c anywhere on simtel20. Tim Wade (tgw@mitre-bedford.arpa)
