I know you're going to get a lot of replies/followups from this one. Let me be among the first. I agree with a lot of your complaints. It would be nice if the Amiga worked like the older systems that we're used to. I'd like to see ^S/^Q, unix style wild cards, and unix style PATH names. I'm sure there are reasons why the Amiga chose to do things differently. Perhaps our idea of normal and standard is not normal or standard in the origins of AmigaDOS. In any case, I've gotten used to using [SPACE-BAR]/[BACK-SPACE] for stop/start control, and '#?' for '*' (AmigaDOS *does* have wild cards!). Lots of flames to you for using CLI without having read the manual! The workbench is for those who don't like reading manuals. The CLI is for those who like to get in a little deeper and don't mind reading manuals. Wait 'till you hear what the command is to delete directories!
