You can adjust the drive speed while the test is running, and your results are updated on the screen as you work. I've had trouble getting Locksmith to boot with the cover off my Disk ][, but once I boot it and run the speed test, I can slide the cover forward to get at the speed potentiometer. I believe Nibbles Away and Copy ][+ also have speed test utilities.
