ModemWorks is a "communications construction set" for writing message systems, terminal programs and other modem driven routines. All modem support routines are accessed via the ampersand (&) hook from Basic. Over 50 commands are available, including COPY, FILES, and XMODEM send and receive routines. Currently supports the Novation Apple-Cat and Hayes-compatible external modems at 300, 1200, and 2400 baud, and drivers for other types of modems are being developed. ModemWorks is put out by a collective of programmers known as Living Legends Software. Their stuff is freeware. The address is 1915 Froude Street, San Diego, CA 92107. Or call (619) 222-3722 So there you have it: easy and elegant modem control from Basic. Al Willis Boston University - - - - -
