Here is a suggestion to all those people that have had problems 
reading/writing to/from SF354 drives of the newer variety with the EPROM
upgrade: try resetting the speed of the drive to between 300 and 303.
My drive was blasting along at 310 (2 percent off spec limits) and having
trouble.  Now it is doing just fine.
