The ERSO BIOS were written by a consortium sponsored by the government
of Taiwan.  They did this so that their manufacturers could all have a
legal compatible ROM without having to spend a lot to develop it themselv     -
selves.  They are very compatible (though the machines they are in may
not necessarily be).
