More importantly, I see this as a confirmation of the blather that I shoved on the net the other day about the importance of having others' source code to look at. My code isn't better than anyone else's; if you don't make yours available because you're shy about having others see it, don't be. Maybe you'll be criticized (I have been), but by putting it in the public eye, you avail yourself of the valuable insights of others, when they point out problems, or better solutions. If you hide your code, you never receive this (yes, sometimes painful) benefit. You think I put case-ignore in Grep because I ever use it? Nope. It's because other people said "you should put in case-ignore because it's a good idea." Tabs, too. 'nuff said. --- Paul DuBois UUCP: {allegra,ihnp4,seismo}!uwvax!uwmacc!dubois | ARPA: dubois@easter --+-- dubois@rhesus | | "What is lacking cannot be counted." - Solomon the cladist (Ecclesiastes 1:15)
