I would like to port awk to an enviornment where an int is 16 bits and
pointers are 32 bits.  Also int pointers are not the same as char
pointers on this machine since it is word addressable.

It would seem that someone has already sanitized the awk sources already.
Is there some kind soul out there who would be willing to share their
work?
