With all due respect, I wonder if the digital-analog discussion could
be tabled soon.  I myself do not consider it useful to catalog the
dispositions of many different persons' use of a word; in any case the
thing has simply gone past the bounds of 1200 baud communication.
Please.  On to some substance.
