A sales person is trying to sell us a "DCA 355 - Port Contention Unit" for $15k-20k. a) Is this worth buying? What kind of experiences has anyone had with a dca 355? Is this price reasonable? Are there alternatives to this kind of equipment? b) What is the most economical way to provide this number of ports on a VAX? 2) I would be interested in getting software that would allow connection to USENET with my VAX under VMS. Does this exist, and who can I get a copy from? What kind of compiler is required (C?) ? ------- This is a paraphrase of information that was asked of me (that I did not know) and I am trying to help them out. I feel sure that there is someone out there with information about these items. Please send responses to me, and I will relay them, or if you feel very helpful, you could contact him by phone.
