About a week and a half ago I received the Fall 1986 DECdirect plus Update catalog. It lists the new memory boards for the 8500/8550 and 8700/8800. The upgrades include two 16MB memory boards. The new expanded backplane that accomodates the wider double-sided surface-mounted boards comes free. For the 8500/8550, the part number is MS85-HA (MS88-HA for the 8700/8800), and the list price (U.S.) is $64,000. Of course, there's no way of knowing from here how long it will take before they're delivered in Germany. Dick Dramstad (no, not Darmstadt) rad@mitre-bedford.arpa
