Desparately seeking clues on ... technology for converting printed maps, blueprints, or similar diagrams to a computer data base (figuratively, to go from a bitmapped "MacPaint" to an object-oriented "MacDraw" representation, for some restricted class of symbol-line-text engineering diagrams). I seem to recall an Israeli company advertising such a system a few years ago, but there may (I hope) be other activity in the area by now.
