A number of people have written to me about my article here saying
that I used BinHex 5.0 on the MacLanding repost: let me clarify that.
I used BinHex 5.0 to UNPACK the files onto a mac, not to pack them
(which would have used the 8-bit MacBinary system instead of the
.HQX system that BH 4.0 and, I presume, xbin use.) I just shunted the
BH 4.0 packed files from sumex onto the net: I used BH 5.0 to unpack
them on my own mac.
If it says "Use BH 4.0 to unpack this file" then it was packed using
4.0's .HQX scheme: one can still, however, use 5.0 to unpack it
