At the suggestion of David Moews:

>so ( A^4 + B^4 + C^4 ) = 25/6 (not 9/2; check your algebra.)

I did check my algebra.  An incorrect substitution for the value
of A^3 + B^3 + C^3 (I used 2 instead of 3) lead to my answer of
9/2.  My apologies, 25/6 is correct.
