I have a serious problem with Rmail.  It is ignoring a lot of messages
at the front of the rmail file (about 150 of them), and working just
fine on the remaining 40 messages.  It reports a count of 40 messages,
appends new ones to the end, and all that.  The Babyl header looks good
and the message separators near the beginning and near the great
discontinuity all look good.

I am mystified, and a little despondant.  Can anybody help put my
mail back together?

PS:  GNU Emacs version 18.36, running on HP-UX version 5.17.
