The system is a p-code _interpreter_, has debuggers, native-code generators, and assemblers for various cpus, from the PDP-11 through the 68k. There is a UNIX-hosted implementation, which should run just fine on 68000-based boxes. Other languages available include Modula-2, FORTRAN, and BASIC. A great deal of applications software from numerous vendors is also available. Pecan's ads (not the finest or the most artistic) run in BYTE and several other magazines. Prices range from about $100 - $2k, depending on machine, bells and whistles. There is a large and active UCSD p-System Users' Society, with a Forum on CompuServe and an occasional newsletter -- much chatter and technical tips go on.
