Not doing autorouting would have meant mail delivery times in the order of several days AND high comm. cost, while with seismo we have delivery within a few hours. Compared to the real benefits that autorouting has, the disadvantages are nearly nil. Who wants to talk to a uucp site which can't choose a unique name, anyway :-) ?
