The USENIX Board of Directors is pleased to announce that 
the Stargate experiment has demonstrated technical 
feasibility.  The conclusion of this experiment will be 
funded by the Association through the end of February 1987.

Stargate Information Services, the product of this lengthy 
experiment, will be organized by the investigators during the 
next few weeks.  Its purpose is to provide news by means of 
a satellite via cable TV or a dish.
