This is sufficient to prove that news (2.11) will compile and link under the small model. PC/IX has no large model compiler. It does, however, support split I and D space as does Minix. Unfortunately, Minix's compiler doesn't support split I and D. So, to run news under Minix you will have to cross compile from PC/IX or some other environment.
