I post here only because there appear to be people here who can answer this well :-) } A number of people have mentioned that it is necessary to get PC-IX to re-do the MINIX system, for certain sections of the code to be recompiled. This implies (especially since Mr. Tannenbaum said he compiled the system on PC-IX initially) that there is a great deal of respect for PC-IX. If someone has an old review (or pointer to one) about PC-IX, I'd be very interested in seeing it. (I am looking at UNIX systems for PCs - I own SCO XENIX System V and am not entirely happy with it.)
